On Saturday, March 22, 2014 at approximately 2010 hours, New Market was dispatched for one engine to respond to Edison for the 6th Alarm fire in a school. Firefighters had been feverishly trying to contain a fire at the James Monroe Elementary School, however the fire soon engulfed most of the school and a defensive attack was ordered. Engine-2 responded and provided lighting and manpower and returned to the District at approximately 0400 hours the next morning.

On Monday, December 16, 2013 at approximately 2156hrs. The New Market Fire Co. #1 was dispatched to 333 Grandview Avenue for the reported two car garage attached structure fire.Upon arrival, Car 1 observed heavy fire bellowing from the two car garage, side-A of the structure. Chief Lemire contacted Fire Dispatch and gave a size-up and requested that New Market Fire Co. be re-toned for the confirmed working structure fire and request all hands to respond and request that a second alarm... New Market Fire once again took part in this years National Night Out (Against Crime). With a crowd in the thousands, everyone enjoyed the spirit of a community gathering to take part in a fight against crime. There was plenty of food, entertainment and fun by all. And to the delight of many, T-6 had the honor of flying "Old Glory" for the National Anthem.

The New Market Fire Department would like to congratulate FF Sean Kelley and his now Wife Angie on their wedding day. The festivities took place at the Elizabeth Ave. Firehouse in Franklin Township and from what we saw, a good time was had by all. Again congrats Sean and Angie!

On Sunday 06/23/2013 at 1037 hrs The New Market Fire Co. #1 was
dispatched to Carlton Club Apartments, 277 Adams Street, for the reported stove
On arrival, smoke was emanating from the apartment with all occupants accounted for. It was
reported that the home owner was home cooking and left the food on the stove unattended.
Awakened by the smoke detectors, the occupant evacuated the structure and

As published in Firenews.com, Truck 6 and Engine 1 was on scene for a roof rescue of an injured construction worker. As seen in the photo, Capt. Mike Campbell and FF Tim Thorn operating the truck as Lt. Mike Chevalier and Lt. Rich Jones stabilized the patient to be transferred to the ground for transport to the hospital.
