At 1400 hrs on Tuesday, January 03, 2012, The New Market FD
responded to the 800 block of So. Washington Avenue for the reported MV
Collision involving a car and two Tractor Trailers. Upon arrival, Car-1 reported that the female occupant was
trapped between the two cabs of the trucks. NM Engine-1 responded for suppression and NM Rescue-1 responded to
extricate the single occupant. One Tractor Trailer driver was shook up and was checked for
anxiety, the other driver was walking around the accident scene. Asst. Chief Previtera took over as Extrication Officer and
directed Lt. Kelley, FF's. P. Rourke, K. Kertes, J. Kertes, J. Nieves, D.
Pressley and A. Ferrara in the extrication effort. They performed a
reverse roof flap allowing RWJ-783 EMT's to gain entry to the occupant to
stabilize and check for further injury.
NM Engine-1 with FF. D. Reina (Chauffeur) stood by for
further District Calls, NM Rescue-1 was operated by FF. M. Gahrmann.
The occupant was extricated at 1425 hrs with minor injuries and
transported to nearby hospital. The accident scene was turned over to patrol for investigation.
