KITCHEN FIRE

Monday, September 26, 2011 1530 HRS. At approx 1530 hrs on Monday September 26, New Market Fire was dispatched to 91 Royal Dr. for a reported fire in the residence. NM-Car 1 arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and Chief Lemire reported a heavy black smoke condition, possibly from the kitchen area. Friday, September 9, 2011  New Market's former Truck 1 is now serving as Truck 56 with the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. in Pennsylvania, about an hour and a half drive west of Harrisburg. Thursday, August 18, 2011 0910 PISCATAWAY — A 25-year-old Maryland man was injured on Wednesday when part of a third-floor wall at a townhouse and condominium complex being built on the former Fairway Golf Center property collapsed..

At about 9:10 a.m., police and firefighters were called 1650 Stelton Road, where the complex is under construction. The former golf center had housed a driving range, go-carts and miniature golf course.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011  New Market Fire Co. #1 attended the 28th annual National Night Out (NNO) sponsored by Piscataway Police Department like all other town across the nation.

Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. CAR FIRE

Tuesday, July 12, 2011  On Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 0552hrs the Fire Department responded to 244 Carlton Avenue on the reported car fire.

Upon Chief Lemire's arrival, a Lincoln Towne Car had an active fire inside the passenger area with all the windows rolled up and just a glow coming from inside the vehicle.

SWIFTWATER TRAINING DRILL

Monday, July 11, 2011  The Swiftwater Team conducted one of several drills to keep profiencey in the water. Tonights drill consisted of profitiency in knots, throw bags, active/passive victim, boat procedures and uprighting a capsized boat.

The drill went for two hours and consisted of 15 members, 8 of them assisted in being victim and some inspiring to be on the team.

BRUSH 4 TAKES 1st PLACE IN NEWARK

Sunday, June 5, 2011  Brush 4 took home the 1st Place Brush Truck trophy at this years 44th annual antique fire apparatus muster and parade in Newark.  Good job!!

   
 

EXTRICATION DRILL

Thursday, May 19, 2011 1900 Hrs On Thursday May 19, 2011, approximately 20 members participated in a unique extrication excercise that was set up for both seasoned firefighters as well as newer firefighters.  A 4 door car was placed inside a 30 yd roll off dumpster.  A manaquin patient was placed in the car and to add to the challenge, a 10 ft section of guard rail was protruding from the roof of the car.  Set up to simulate a motor vehicle rescue in a confined area, such as between two tractor trailers....
